Our Florida Heartland is facing an
unprecedented population boom
projected to exceed
1.5-million over the next quarter
century, impacting our
local economies, farmland, roads,
rural heritage, habitat and
wildlife, and our quality of life.
That’s why doing nothing, or doing
something wrong, is no longer an
option.
So about a
year ago, with start-up funding
provided by local landowners,
HEART (Heartland
Economic, Agricultural and Rural
Task Force) was formed so Heartlanders have
a
real voice in changes
that will affect their future.
Currently,
HEART is assessing a
state-led effort to study, and
possibly pursue, “corridors” as a
catalyst to better plan the entire
region looking out 50 years into
the future -- all
before being
overwhelmed by people, the breakup
of land ownership, and the
challenges of a modern world.
Dialogue
around this proposal is absolutely
vital. Know that as this
“conversation” unfolds,
HEART will be there –
to ensure it is informed,
objective,
and collaborative.
Join us.
It’s about the future.
